How do I know when practice is ?
Practice schedules are posted under Schedules on our web site. This should be used as a guide on a monthly basis. It is important to call the hotline at 515-830-1379 daily to confirm practice time and location.

What do I need to bring to practice ?
Swimmers need to be prepared with a swim cap, goggles, fins and practice suit. Also bring a towel and water bottle. A detailed list of equipment is in the appendix of our handbook.

How many times a week do I need to be at practice ?
Though not mandatory, swimmers should strive to attend all practices in order to attain their personal goals.

Why is running a part of the training? I thought this was a swim team ?
Swimming is a sport, which the body is not made for. We are built for land-based sports, so we need to ease swimmers into the yardage that is needed to be successful gradually. While they are undergoing this transition running is great aerobic cross training. It is an activity they can do while talking which contributes to the building of team unity.
