We want you on our team!
Our federation was built with a mission to develop swimming skills at all levels
with a natural progression to reach the potential of the next level through focused
training. Our experienced coaching staff is aligned to support each level individually,
allowing swimmers to train with confidence. We have four groups in our competitive
program. If you are new to the club, please reach out to our head coach for guidance
on what level your athlete should be placed in.
Bronze Group
Bronze is our entry level for swim team. Many swimmers begin Bronze after they have
completed swimming lessons or have a strong interest in swimming but have never
swam competitively. The aim of the Bronze group is to introduce and refine stroke
technique, flip turns and establishing underwater streamline position. Bronze swimmers
are encouraged to participate in DMSF hosted swim meets throughout the year. The
general age is 6 years and older. Practices are 45 minutes to an hour long and offered
4- 5 times each week.
Silver Group
Silver swimmers will continue to learn competitive skills and refine swimming technique
with an emphasis on endurance through planned workouts. The general age is 8 to
12 years old. Silver swimmers are expected to participate in all local swim meets
and are encouraged to travel to an out-of-town meet in preparation for regionals.
Practices are one to 1 ½ - 2 hours long, offered 4-5 times each week.
Blue Group
The Blue Group's mission is to prepare athletes mentally and physically for the
transition from age group level swimming to senior level swimming. The emphasis
is on continuous technique while working toward an aerobic foundation. Swimmers
starting out will focus more on technique with a gradual progression towards more
aerobic training. The general age is 10 to 14 years old. Practices are 1 ½ - 2 hours
long, offered six days each week.
Gold Group
The mission of the Gold Group level is to train athletes for preparation of our
state meet, zones, high school and college swimming. Athletes are expected to challenge
themselves at workouts and serve as role models for our younger swimmers. The general
age is 13 years and older with competitive experience required. Practices are 2 – 2 ½ hours long, offered six days each week.
